Built from a personal need.
We're Nick and David, the founders of Donna. We built Donna because we know firsthand how hard it is to make sure nothing slips through the cracks when you're taking care of an aging loved one.
Growing up, we saw our moms take on so much responsibility when caring for our grandparents: coordinating their rides to the doctor, managing their paperwork and finances, decluttering their houses ... all while trying to maintain their true relationship as a daughter. Not as a chauffeur or accountant or maid or all of the above.
With so many big tasks on their plates, we saw how smaller things got missed. Maybe the plants didn't get watered, maybe a favorite sports team's game wouldn't get watched, maybe the doors didn't get locked at night.
We'd both felt inspired to help but hadn't individually figured out exactly how. After a chance conversation at our college reunion, we realized we both were determined to solve this problem. Fast forward many late nights and lots of hard work, we launched Donna and have been working hard to help support seniors and their families ever since!
Donna will never replace your relationship with your parent. She's a gentle extra touchpoint through the day, so the small things are looked after and your time together can stay about being family.
Nick's grandpa is an avid Detroit Tigers baseball fan. They play 162 games per year, and if anyone has time to watch them all, it's him. However, game times vary by day and he often used to miss them. But Donna never misses them. Now he gets a call 10 minutes before every Tigers game starts, and he's hardly missed a pitch since.
